WHY DO WE SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF?

I have been thinking a lot about this lately and how we tend to make a huge mountain out of a mole hill with issues.  Why do we tend to do this? That is a very good question.  I mean, do we not have enough stress in our day to day lives already?  We then take something small and stew on it and stew on it until either we blow up at our spouse or children about it or maybe worry so much that we are unable to sleep at night.  I am just as guilty of this as most of you are.  As many of you know, I take care of my elderly Father and at times he does stuff that drives me crazy and sometimes I catch myself saying something to him without thinking first about it.  I have always told my husband and my children when they were growing up that if whatever you are worrying about is something you can change, then change it.  If it is something you cannot do anything about, then turn it over to GOD.  He will take your burdens from you.  Now, I know what you are thinking, it sure is easier said than done!  Yes, it is, and like I said, I am just as guilty. However, I will be the first to tell myself to stop sweating the small stuff.  Don’t cause yourself more stress and worry.  Ask yourself, in the grand scheme of things, is this really a big deal?  Is the thing I am going to get on my Father about such a big deal to upset him, usually not.  Sometimes, it may be but then we handle it differently.  It’s my hope that whoever might be reading this today gets a reminder on the importance of not sweating the small stuff as well as giving it to GOD!
